Defenstar GPS668 is a miniature size personal GPS tracker for monitoring and protecting people and property.

GPS668 has only GPS support, and it doesn?t support GLONASS and alternative systems. It either doesn?t support Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology. As the back-up, when no satellites signals are available, it uses Cell ID location (also known as LBS-tracking).
There are only two basic tracking modes, which do not provide too much flexibility: by time interval and by distance.
Mobile network
With Quad-band GSM 2G module Defenstar GPS668 can be operated all over the world.
Power supply
GPS668 contains a 900 mAh battery. It is claimed that battery can last for 8-10 hours of work in normal conditions.
Emergency button
GPS668 has a small SOS button. To send the SOS signal it?s required to hold the button pressed within 3 seconds. The GSM light will dim for 2 times and SOS Alarm ?Help me! + GPS info!? will be sent to the authorized phone number. In the mean time, it will dial 3 authorized numbers every 30 seconds.
Remote management
GPS668 tracker can be fully controlled over GPRS. There is also a wide list of SMS commands in a human-friendly format, on which device always replies back. It supports remote APN settings configuration by SMS.
LED indication
GPS668 has three LEDs for GPS, GSM and Power status.

ACTIVATION PROCESS
Automatic activation (recommended)
The software platform supports automatic device activation by applying APN settings, server address and port, as well as recommended tracking mode though the SMS channel. Normally you don’t need to configure anything manually. Just install the SIM card, switch the device ON and make sure it is located in the place with good GPS signal reception.
When you activate a device, the following SMS command is sent from server to device:

Some parameters depend on your cellular network operator:
- <Apn> – APN name
- <User name> – APN login
- <Password> – APN password.
Before the activation process please make sure that your device is switched ON and is located in the place with good GPS signal reception.
As soon as this command is executed the GPS tracker will connect to the server, and the rest of configuration process will be done via GPRS channel.
Manual configuration
If you experience issues with the SMS delivery from the platform to device in your country, you can setup device manually by sending the above list of commands from your mobile phone.
